Canada : Yukon - Provincial Nomination Program

Yukon is situated along the western border of Canada and is the smallest federal territory.The Yukon Nominee Program was developed to allow the Government of Yukon to nominate potential immigrants based on industrial and economic priorities and labour market conditions; and who, based on Yukon's assessment, have a strong likelihood of successfully establishing themselves in Yukon society.

Business program for entrepreneurs

Depending on personal wealth and amount of relevant business experience, candidates can migrate under the self-employed category. The other requirements include:

  • Minimum net worth of $250,000 Canadian Dollars.
  • Minimum investment of $150,000 Canadian Dollars to either establish or purchase a running business.
  • Visit to the territory at least once before submitting the application with authorities.
  • Speaking and writing fluency in either English or French.
  • Business skills and relevant professional experience in the listed fields in order to implement the proposal.

Business programme for professionally self-employed individuals

The requirements include:

  • The applicant must possess a skill listed under the shortage category in the province.
  • Candidates must be able to produce license by the relevant professional governing body wherever applicable.
  • Must have visited Yukon to understand the environmental, economic and social conditions of the territory.
  • Must be able to prove that he or she possesses adequate resources to implement their proposal.
  • In case of dependents, the applicant must have resources to support them for a minimum of six months.
